Glycolytic Activity in Extracts of Young Rat Skin’

چکیده
The existence of the glycolytic sequence of enzymes in rat skiu is suggested by the data of a number of investigators. For example, Barron et al. (1) found that the endogenous, anaerobic evolution of CO, in slices of rat skiu was inhibited by iodoacetate, fluoride, and glyceraldehyde. Dixon and Needham (2) reported that their investigation into the mechanism of vesicant actiou indicated that the skin had a “phosphorylative type” of mechrtuism for the utilizntiou of glucose similar to that in muscle. In addition, several laboratories have apparently demonstrated the presence of hexokinase in rat skin [cf. (1, 2)]. A more direct piece of evidence for the glycolytic mechanism is t’he demonstrated conversion of FDI? to an equimolar mixture of PG and I’GA catalyzed by an extract of rat skin (3). The present paper presents results which confirm t’he existence of the individual glycolytic enzymes and indicate the presence of a “DPK-requiring” glycerophosphate dehydrogenase in rat skill.

Introduction: Any type of exercise protocol has specific effects on the physiology of the body. Thus, according to the purpose of the training program and conditions of the subjects, a specific exercise protocol is needed to be considered. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to assess the effect of intermittent training on oxidative and glycolytic capacity in rat skeletal muscles. Method...
متن کاملCytotoxic effect of methanolic extracts of vegetative and reproductive parts of Vinca rosea on A431, a human skin squamous carcinoma cell line
Introduction: Vinca rosea, an important medicinal plant, is well-known for its anticancer properties especially against breast cancer. In this study, we compared the cytotoxic effects of methanolic extracts of the vegetative (young and old leaves) and reproductive (flowers) organs of this plant on a human squamous cell carcinoma using MTT assay. Methods: The cytotoxic effects of Vinca rosea'...

Background: Skin eruption is a disease that it is because of skin necrosis and adolescence and youth depression. The some species of Staphylococcuss are agent of this disease. There isn’t effective drug for curing of this disease. Many of medicinal plants (e.x. Stachys inflata Benth.) have anti- bacterial compounds and they can be used as a drug to cure skin eruption disease. Objective: This r...

Biotransformation of benzo[a]pyrene (BaP) in the presence of microsomal fractions derived from liver and epiderm of adult and weanling rats was examined. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of age on the capacity of two organs in transformation of BaP. Subcellular fractions were prepared from skin and liver by ultracentrifugation and were used as the source of BaP metabolizing enzy...
